Bear Hug Players Take in a Match at The Dripping Pan

LewesBear Hug players take in a match at The Dripping Pan

On Saturday December 19, three local Bears travelled to The Dripping Pan, home to Lewes F.C. to see the struggling Rooks take on Farnborough F.C. in a Ryman Premier League relegation clash and enjoy the gourmet burgers at halftime.

The Guardian’s Barry Glendenning names The Dripping Pan as his favourite non-league football ground.

The burgers at Lewes were amazing and didn’t disappoint, but the trio of Bears were celebrating way before half time when Lewes’ Phil Appiah teed up a 25 yard screamer for himself.

Lewes had only tasted victory once in the League before Saturday and with the Sun going down and temperature dropping, the Bear Hug team retreated to the veritable comforts of an unused beach hut to watch the nervy last 15 minutes of the match and saw Lewes hold on for a solid home win.
